So in 2021, my husband & I bought our first house! It is a money pit & fixer upper for sure! But I freaking adore it! We have 7 acres loaded with fruit trees, a swamp & forest, a field that is amazing for taking photos in, a place for my chickens & ducks, and lots of garden space!
We have a lot of projects going on all at once, but this is our forever home and I’m so happy about it! I’ve already had a few photos sessions in our field, and have a few planned for the forest & swamp as well!
One of our big projects is turning one of the bedrooms on the first floor into my own little studio. To do that, we first have to finish the attic, because that bedroom is currently storage and we need to move all the stuff in there to the attic.
I have so many plans for this little slice of paradise! I want to plant an orchard behind the barn, with more fruit trees! I want to plant sunflowers in the field one year & create an area for pumpkins and gourds! I want to finish up my own little studio room inside the house for winter months, or for indoor boudoir shoots.
Our first year here has been a wild ride! And I thing it is going to take us many years to continue to make this the home of our dreams! I am actually beyond thrilled that we are finally at this step in our life. I never thought we would actually have our own home, but this is it & we plan to make the most of it!
I thought I’d share a few shots of our new homestead & where I plan on setting up my studio. It’s a work in progress, but I’m super proud of it.
